Thanksgiving without you!

I have missed you both so much this week! We just got home from Las Vegas thanksgiving classic soccer tournament!    Jacob’s team played in it for the 3rd year in a row. They did really well. Jacob got to play quite a bit! He is really exhausted and sore!

Last Sunday after church, the home teachers came brother Conover and Jaron, my visiting teachers came (Francine wright and Karen LeBaron), then Shanna and Christian came to visit for a little bit before they went to dinner at the Roth’s!   Then we went to grandma Stanley’s and visited with Rod, Barbara, Jacob fisher and Jessica and her baby trey! Monday dad and I spent most of the day mucking out James room! We removed everything that wasn’t absolutely needed! Tuesday, i had to go down to provo to pay my ticket i received while driving grandma J. to her colonoscopy. I got the ticket because my registration was expired. While i was down there i visited shanna, grandma and grandpa J to help them with unpacking to move back into their house, Starlee to return her vases! Wednesday I cleaned and packed and baked mini pecan pies, pumpkin pies, rolls and coconut whip cream to take to thanksgiving.  Thursday we got up really early to drive to Scott and Amy’s house. We got there in time to help with all the cooking.  We made turkey, rolls, pies, sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes, green beens etc! It was all so yummy! After dinner, we cleaned up, played games, ate pie, relaxed etc. then we went to the hotel to get checked in! We were tired.  Dad went to Black Friday shopping on Thursday evening.  The boys hung out with the other boys.  Friday and Saturday jacob had 2 games each day. They tied some and lost some.  They weren’t early games either so we could sleep in each day and relax in the mornings. Dad and I went for a long walk one morning. James and I did a weight workout together on Thursday night.  Last night we slept at the hotel again and then we got up this morning and dressed, packed, ate breakfast and then we drove to St George.  Mandie’s (James birth mom) son got baptized yesterday. We went to their sacrament meeting where he was confirmed.  His little sister will be baptized in January.  It was nice to see them.

I love and miss you both so much! Keep up the great work! You are always in our hearts and prayers! Remember to love and serve your companions! That will make all the difference in your mission!

Home sweet home

This week has been pretty crazy.  Mostly i spent about 3 hours a day at HHS for ribbon week. We did a different color and focus each day of the week.  Red = drug free, white = internet safety, green = pedestrian safety, yellow = suicide prevention, purple = end domestic violence! We had the kids sign the pledge wall, handed out ribbons for each day, did tickets and a drawing for prizes.  Jacob and his friends even made an appearance a few times and came over and Jacob spoke a couple words to me.

We also had soccer and parenting class and the usual things going on.  Saturday, the Roth’s did a baby shower at their house, it was so cute and fun!

I went to see the Cyprus high school musical “hairspray” on Saturday night.  Macy, Shannon, Yurim and of course aunt Kaye (costume designer) participated in it.  Trista and Sabrina went with me.

McKenzie Humphreys farewell

This week I had a chance to meet Souer Barton who just returned from (your) Elena's mission and was with her Mom visiting her Grandma who is serving a mission in downtown SLC.  Her mom and I had talked after you (Elena) sent a pic with her on splits. I met them and they were fantastic people.  We had a lot in common.  It was really fun to hear stories from Souer Barton about the area and you!

James and Dad and the 11 year old scouts went on a campout to a campground in Lehi.  They had a lot of fun.  Dad probably has some pictures to send you.

This morning we went to Mckenzie Humphreys farewell.  She did an amazing job on her talk.  We are so excited that 5 out of our 5 girls are serving or have served missions.  We discussed this today and think it is really cool.  She will serve in the Columbus ohio mission!  We got back in time for Dad to teach a lesson in priesthood and for me to play piano for primary!

After church, we hurried home to get ready for the Jacobs Family dinner at our house.  I made a potato veggie soup & pumpkin coconut curry soup and rolls and pumpkin cake.  Everybody brought a bunch of salads and other pumpkin desserts! Grandma and Grandpa were sick with colds so they didn't get to come tonight! I am so exhausted tonight.

Halloween

Monday I walked with Adrian and Kristin and delivered door fliers for Dawn Ramsey's campaign for Mayor.  We walked and walked and walked.  I got home just in time for the windshield to be repaired.  James and Jacob both had soccer in the evening.  We went to dinner when the boys got home from soccer.  Jacob didn't want to go so James and Richard and I went to the district and Richard and I got dinner at RICED and James got dinner at the Habit.

Tuesday I went and watched James Halloween parade at his school and then walked with Kristin and Adrian.  It was really cold.  I went and got jewelry and make up for my costume and some pumpkins for the boys to carve after school.  Next I made lasagna and Pumpkin chocolate chip muffins for dinner.  James and Jacob got home from school and james carved his pumpkin but Jacob didn't want to.  James got in his costume and went trick or treating.  Dad got home pretty late from work.  It was the first Halloween that I wore a costume while handing out candy to trick or treaters!  I think most people were surprised to see me in a costume.

Wednesday I walked with friends. Dad and I got to go to the temple and then all 4 of us were supposed to go to counseling together finally but Jacob texted me during school and said that he had a test he had to take after school.  I had to just take james by myself and then reschedule the group counseling for 3 weeks out because of everybody's schedule.  James and I had a good visit with Carol and I feel like James is responding well to the things that she asks him to do.   I had cub scouts next and then both boys had soccer and then we had dinner and then Dad and I went to the Parenting class.  We are getting lots of good tools to help us connect, correct and empower the boys.  The struggle is real! Dad had a late hockey game.

Thursday, I finally got to go back to LIFT class at the rec center.  My ribs started hurting again a few weeks ago after the chiropractor and so I didn't go for a few weeks to Lift.  I really like that class.

Friday, James didn't have school so James and I went down to visit Shanna! We went to Wendy's for lunch and then went to Shanna's apartment and visited and helped her take out her garbages etc.  We had a good visit.  Next I took james into a consult appointment with an orthodontist by Copper Mountain Middle School.  He said that James teeth aren't ready for braces yet and to come back in 6 months.  He did say that I should get James tonsils checked by an ENT because they are huge.  I knew they have always been big but I didn't think it was a problem.  I guess it is causing him to struggle breathing especially while sleeping.  James had an indoor soccer practice and then we had dinner and went to Jacob's Futsal game.

Saturday, I went walking and then the boys and I worked on chores all day long.  I was able to get Jacob out to go buy indoor soccer shoes, jeans and a jacket and socks.  He has needed them for a while.  It is just hard to get him out to go get them!

Today in church Dawn Ramsey played the organ in sacrament meeting for the first time.  She did great!  We are really low on piano players in our ward.  Primary was a breeze where we just played a game where we played songs other than program songs.  The missionaries taught sharing time.  That was cool. We talked a lot about missionary work all through church today.  We had Tithing settlement and it was weird to have only Dad, Me and James and it was with Bishop (Shane) LeBaron.   Jacob wouldn't go.
