Back to School

Monday morning Dad and I went on a bike ride.  We only got 19 miles in and then we both had flat tires because of those stickers on the Jordan river trail.  We had already used the one replacement we had with us.  We went to the closest trax by 7200 south and the freeway and rode all the way home.  Shanna, Christian and Charlotte came over for dinner on Monday night.  We had planned to go on our last boat trip for the summer before the boys started school on Tuesday but it turned out to be really stormy, so we just stayed home and had leftovers and that is all we did.  haha! Jacob had soccer and so we figured it would be the only way we could all see him for a few minutes.
James started 6th grade.  They have it set up like middle school where they have all different classes and teachers for each class.  He is enjoying it and I think it makes him feel grown up.
Jacob started his junior year.  He is growing so tall and he really wants to grow his hair out long.  I hope that if I leave him alone about it that he will grow out of this phase.  He had his first soccer game on Saturday for the season.  They lost to the rangers.  He is really playing well.  I really love watching him play soccer.

Wednesday Dad and I drove up to the exit by Layton indoor BMX track and Lagoon.  We rode our bikes 25 miles and then back to the car and hurried and drove back home for an appointment.  We stopped at a familiar soccer park by the freeway where we changed into normal clothes, filled our water bottles and ate our lunches.  There are 100 miles of trails from provo all the way up to north ogden area.  It is Jordan river trail for 49 miles, then Legacy trail for 14 miles and then 23 miles for Rio Grande trail.  Well the numbers aren't adding up to 100 so I must be off somewhere.

Thursday, Kaye came and drove with me and we picked up Shanna and Charlotte and went and visited Grandma and Grandpa and helped them pack.
I made some home made bread and while I was gone taking the boys to school on the first day of school, Buddy (the dog) got the loaf of bread off of the counter and chewed a big chunk out of it.  When I got back home and found it I cut off the part of the loaf that he chewed on and threw him and the chunk out the back door.  I cant leave him alone in the kitchen anymore.

I love our garden so much.  The corn on the cob is from smiths.  The peaches and tomatoes are from the back yard.  That was my dinner the other night.  I love it so much! I love garden dinners.
Friday, I went over to take some things to Shanna before they left for bear lake and then I just hung out with Charlotte while Shanna got everything ready and packed.  It was a win win situation.  I distracted and entertained Charlotte.  I am loving every minute with them.

Stake conference was this weekend.  Last night was the adult session.  We had adults over for dessert after.  I cut up watermelon, made brownies and bought ice cream, (dairy and non dairy).  I cut up strawberries, bananas and mini chocolate chips.  It was so good and fun to have people over.  They had a youth meeting this morning at 8 am and james went to that.  Neither Jacob or James went to the main meeting of conference with us. Dad and I walked over to our building.  Since we are the garden park stake now, all of the meetings were at our building.  The speakers were amazing and my heart is full and my testimony is strengthened and I have a stronger desire to do better and be better.

Biking

First of all I really want to tell you about biking.  Dad bought me a road bike on the 4th of July.  I have wanted one for years so I could ride with Dad.  We are planning and training for a 2 day ride from thanksgiving point I think up to Ogden! We will get on jordan river trail and ride half the way and then stay in a hotel I think and then finish the next day.  I get pretty sore still.  Dad can ride a lot farther than I can but I am up to 20 and last week we did 22.6. This week I will need to add more mileage.  I think each day we will do 35 so I have a ways to go.

James got to go horse back riding for YM YW combined last week.  He really liked it.

These are the beautiful grapes we picked this week.  All of our fruit on our trees are getting ripe. It is so exciting! This is the first time we got so much grapes! Dad did a really good job of the net over the grapes this year and it completely kept the birds out!!

Well apparently I didnt take any pics of Charlotte on my phone this week! I did scrub the tile floor really well and there is buddy lying on the rug!

Jacob played in the adidas cup soccer tournament this week.  His team lost all 3 games though.  James and Jacob both will start school this Tuesday.

I am really enjoying my new calling in primary (1st counselor).  Today they called Colett McKissick as a secretary for primary as well.  I am excited to have a calling with her.

Shanna & Charlotte came over earlier this week and we made granola! I got to watch Charlotte one day while shanna took the Roth kids to a movie, Shanna and Charlotte came with me to help mom and dad pack some boxes.  It has been fun the last few weeks to spend time with Shanna while she has a break from school and she lives close by! I also watched Charlotte while Christian and Shanna went to the temple.  It was a good week!

Scout Camp and Weddings

This week was packed with all kinds of things.  James left on Monday morning for week long scout camp.  I have included before and after pics of James and of the group! He had a good time, caught fish and hiked!! These are the before pics of James and scout camp group.

Grandpa Wright came over and brought an eagle statue that his mom made, he gave it to jacob. It was pretty cool. We were able to get Jacob to put a scout shirt on and have a picture.

Thursday, Lindsay and Adam were married in the Oquirrh mountain temple.  It was wonderful to be able to join with them and celebrate this day with this sweet and happy couple.

Charlotte is rolling over and reaching for things a lot now! She is so cute!
Dad and I were able to go to Makell Grotepas’s wedding reception.  They are a very cute couple.

Jordanelle, Wendover & My 29th Birthday

Grandma and Grandpa have officially sold their home in Pleasant Grove and bought a home in American Fork.  You know the road we take out to Utah Lake in American Fork Harbor, it is right by that.  This will give them some room for Motor Home and trailer and tools etc.  The house is only one level which will be perfect for both of them. They will close in and move next month.

We rented a house right by Jordanelle Reservoir and stayed there from Monday through Thursday.  Jacob actually came with us.  I didn't know if that was going to happen or not even up to the last minute when we left.

Charlotte is having a little struggle liking her life jacket.  She doesn't want to have it on.  She did pretty well considering.  We all had a pretty good time.  We set up the little sport tent and some chairs and made a beach camp.  Shanna, James, Charlotte and I sat there for a little while, Jacob and Dad and Christian rode around in the boat for a while.
The 2nd night, we drove into Park City and went out to dinner and went to the Alpine Slide.

The house we rented.  It doesn't look very big but it had 4 big bedrooms, a big kitchen, hottub, 4 bathrooms 1 big and 1 small family room.
Christian, Shanna, Charlotte & Jacob left Wednesday evening after dinner to go home.  I started feeling very feverish on Wednesday evening.  Christian had to work the next day.  Dad and James and I drove around in the mountains by Park City and Deer Valley and down through Midway.  We saw some fantastic views! It was so beautiful.  We found a little carnival in Midway and James did a few rides.   The whole evening I was chilled and cold.  I was wrapped up in a blanket from the car and Dad's jacket.

Friday, Dad and I and Chris and Mel went to Wendover and went to a Hard Rocker Guitarist concert.  It was pretty cool but the guy swore a lot.  It ruined it for me.  I was and am so disappointed in myself that I said yes.  It was really fun to hang out with Chris and Mel.  We stayed over night in Wendover.  We went to a buffet for dinner and then went out for breakfast the next morning and then we headed home.
I made this peanut Butter Chocolate pie for my birthday!
Shanna and Christian bought me a birthday cake from city cakes.  It was so good.  I have more than plenty birthday dessert!  Grandma and Grandpa also came over and had dinner with us all for my birthday. Dad BBQ'd some chicken and burgers and shanna helped me make roasted potatoes, watermelon, salad.
