Merry Christmas 2018

Christmas Eve Dad, James, Jacob and I went to dinner and a movie.
We opened our Christmas pajamas and Christian, Shanna & Charlotte came over to open their Christmas eve gifts as well.

I am so happy that Grandma and Grandpa Jacobs and shanna, Christian and Charlotte came over for breakfast and our missionary phone call.
 Charlotte loves looking at books.
Our waffle iron broke last year and I got a new one for Christmas.
Friday night we had our Buddy holiday party.  We had so much fun getting together and I bought a karaoke machine for Dad for Christmas.  We played with it a lot before the party to get it set up correctly.  We sang lots of 80s songs for hours with our friends.  It was really fun!
This is the bike Dad got for Charlotte for Christmas!  She hasn't really liked it each time we tried it.  This was the first time she actually stayed on it for a minute and we got a smile too.
Tonight we had a Christmas Jacobs Family dinner party at the Wrights house.

Dad and I and Adrian Paschal went to Lauren Houstons reception.  She looks so happy and beautiful.  I ran into 4 girls you know there and got a pic for you.

Our 32nd anniversary

Dad and I celebrated our anniversary this week. We have now been married for 32 years! I found and bought these nightstands on ksl for our bedroom.  I really like them and excited to have a place for my lamp right next to my bed and a matching nightstand for Dad too.

Charlotte hung out with me one day this week and so Shanna could finish up her semester including finals and assignments etc.
Charlotte is so helpful with the dishwasher!
Charlotte loves this huge bear.  I know I sent a pic of her with this bear from last week too.
Dad & james and I went to see the tree of life lights!  That was the first time we went to see those!  It was pretty cool.  We went out for dinner at Teriyaki Grill in draper.

Dad and I went to the temple and out to Vietnamese food for lunch. The rest of the day that was supposed to be our anniversary celebration vacation day turned out to be a lot of adult responsibilities and not much of a vacation! We were able to spend time together and that is the best!

Today, we only had sacrament meeting for the Christmas program and I sang in the choir.  Since our ward has grown so much we have a lot of people in the choir which makes it a lot less awkward.  We had Echo Hayes and Aaron Pease accompany the choir on flutes.  Some primary children also sang with the choir for the songs.  It was really nice.  This afternoon we were able to go visit grandma and grandpa Jacobs.  They were so thankful for our visit.

Charlotte's First Birthday

Today we went to Robert's 70th birthday party.  It was fun to see their kids and grandkids.  James hung out with their grandkids and I loved talking to the kids.
Dad set up his bike repair shop in the family room.  It has been fun watching him work on the bikes.  He really loves doing that.
Charlotte is so cute and standing up to the furniture.

James is in drama at school and did an improv performance in the auditorium at Copper Mountain Middle School.  He acted like he was a hitchhiker.  It was funny.
Jacob let me take a picture of him and Charlotte for her birthday.
I love the cute expression on Charlottes face while she eats lunch.
Charlotte's first birthday!  Shanna made a cute cake, they bought ice cream and The Roths and our family went to their house and watched Charlotte open her gifts and she is just so cute.
Dad and I bought this cute little riding toy it has dancing princesses and lots of musical buttons.
Christian and Shanna bought this huge bear.  Charlotte snuggled and dove right in on top of the bear.  It was so funny.
Charlotte was cute opening her gifts.  She kept crawling off.

I fixed Charlotte's hair with some gel.  It is getting so curly.
We invited all of Dad's local siblings and spouses over for a potluck dinner.  It was really nice to get together.

Happy Birthday Christian and Charlotte

I asked Jacob for a picture of him with his beanie and long hair.  He would only do a selfie so I just poked my head in there.
Charlotte helping me decorate for Christmas.  I found the perfect bow for this gift.

I made the peanut butter chocolate chip cookies on the lower plate.  I think they turned out really well. I really liked them anyway. We went to a neighbors Christmas Party for a cookie exchange.
James and Charlotte hanging out on the couch.
We finally decorated the Christmas tree on Wednesday night!  Jacob put an ornament on but no picture.  James finally helped me decorate and let me take a picture.
I saw this lady in Smiths and I looked at her and recognized her.  I walked up to her and asked her name but it wasn't familiar.  I told her my name and she said she had a student with that last name.  Then that is when it clicked that this is Miss Smith (Elenas first grade teacher from Hillcrest Elementary).  She is married now and so that is why I didn't recognize her name.
We went to Dad's Lam Christmas Party.  It was an ugly Christmas sweater contest.  Dad participated in the karaoke singing even though he was the only sober person singing. James helped me pick out the ugly sweaters.  Aren't they funny?

James really likes decorating gingerbread houses each year.  He did this one all by himself.
This morning dad and I went to Matt and Becky Nelsons ward for Tanner's homecoming from a mission in Brazil.  He seems to have had an amazing mission.  He said it is always 105 degrees in Brazil.  Tonight after church we had our Stanley celebration of Christian and Charlottes birthdays coming up this week.  I made a pot of chili and quesadillas, salad, chips and salsa and I made a chocolate cake with chocolate frosting.  It turned out so good.  We all liked it.
Grandma Jacobs gave Charlotte these cute little mittens and the furry kitten hat!  Charlotte was so funny crawling around with all of this on.  Her hands and feet were slippery with the tights and mittens.
You can kind of see the cake here while Christian and Charlotte blow out the candles.
Charlotte helped me clean out the toy closet.  It wasn't too bad.  I threw away a lot more stuff even though we really have mostly games and a few toys now.  I wanted to have room for toys for Charlotte.  She did play with the cars and the little pet shop pets for a bit.
